Scrap Metal Buyers and Recyclers in the Denver Metro Area

Published June 4, 2026

Scrap metal is one of the few items you can actually get paid to recycle. Denver's Front Range has a healthy network of scrap yards that accept ferrous and non-ferrous metals from homeowners and contractors.

Ferrous vs. Non-Ferrous Metal

Ferrous metals contain iron — old appliances, swing sets, car parts, structural steel, and most heavy machinery fall in this category. They are attracted by a magnet. Non-ferrous metals (copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel, bronze) do not contain iron and command significantly higher prices per pound.

When sorting your scrap, separate copper wiring, aluminum cans, and brass fixtures from steel and iron to maximize your payout.

  • SA Recycling (Denver/Aurora): National chain with Front Range locations. Competitive pricing on copper and aluminum.

When It Makes More Sense to Call Us

Hauling scrap yourself requires a truck, time, and the ability to load heavy items. If you're clearing an estate, a garage, or a construction site with mixed loads — metal plus furniture, wood, and general debris — a junk removal company is usually faster and cheaper overall.

Troops Junk Removal sorts and recycles scrap metal from every load we haul. We credit back the recycled value on large pure-metal loads — call to ask about our current scrap buyback on qualifying jobs.
