The Tactical Guide to Disposal Costs

As a veteran-owned operation based in Golden, Troops Junk Removal provides transparency where others provide estimates. This analysis breaks down the logistics of volume, labor premiums for hoarder cleanup, and the regulatory fees specific to the Colorado Front Range.

Volume Tier Deployment

Pricing is determined by the "Fractional Occupancy" of our transport vehicles. In Colorado, costs run slightly above national averages due to high-altitude transport and rigorous local disposal regulations.

Single-Item Logistics

Bulky items require specific labor-intensivity. Refrigerators and electronics include recycling surcharges mandated by Colorado law (SB12-133) to prevent hazardous waste contamination.

Hoarder Job Intel: Complexity Scaling

Hoarder situations are classified by "Clutter Levels" (1–5). Beyond Level 2, pricing shifts from volume-only to a labor-first model. This accounts for sorting time, hazardous environment PPE, and specialized disposal routes.

Mass Density Pricing Thresholds

Not all cubic yards are created equal. In the Jefferson County / Golden area, dense materials (concrete, pavers, gravel) are priced per 'Bedload' (bottom 12 inches of the truck) to maintain road safety and DOT compliance.

Standard Operating Procedures

01. Heavy Material Rule

Materials such as concrete, dirt, or brick cannot exceed 12 inches in height in our trucks. Overloading creates a tactical hazard and violates DOT weight restrictions.

02. No-Go List (Hazmat)

Under no circumstances will we transport wet paint, chemicals, asbestos, or lead-based materials. These require specialized hazardous extraction units.

03. Deployment Window

Cancellations must be filed 24 hours prior to our arrival. Deployments canceled at the door are subject to a $75 readiness fee.

04. Labor Extraction Fee

Pricing assumes ground-floor access. Items located on 3rd floors or higher, or items requiring disassembly, incur a 'Labor-Premium' of $38 per item.
